Roompact’s bulletin board competition is now closed and we’re ready to announce the winners. We received over 130 entires (!), so picking ten was incredibly difficult. Some boards did an excellent job at educating residents, while others were just beautiful! We tried to select a diverse group of winners that reflected the diversity of the submissions themselves.
Thank you to all who entered! Your ideas are now a resource for future RAs to use for inspiration.
Access our resource page for more ideas and examples of staff-created door decs and bulletin boards.
“With the new year rolling in, I know that residents are going to set new goals. So, I took this chance to teach how to really make those goals stick.”
Cassidy
University of Connecticut
“This board represents identity. I decided to go with a paint palette and multiple colors as it represents diversity and all walks of life. I used a cricut to make the “Identity” in the title. I hand painted plates for the paint palette and lamented the giant paintbrush that is attached to the green on the palette. I did a double border as well.”
Matthew
University of Nebraska – Lincoln
“Our theme is South Park, and the board is designed in layers so we can remove the snow and winter gear as the semester progresses into spring. The characters are modeled to look like me and the other RA on our floor.”
Abigail
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
“The theme of this board was mental health/self-care and I chose to focus on the self-care aspect. Each bug aligns with a bug from Animal Crossing and they flip up to reveal resources/information regarding various self-care methods.”
Andie
University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
Angelica
Rollins College
“I did a Five Nights at Freddy’s theme to go along with our dimensions of wellness theme for the month, and made reference to our hall name (Elizabeth)!”
Connor
Texas State University
“The bulletin board displays resources for our campus Rec Center. My residents are always there so I wanted to showcase resources they may not know about. My floor is also jungle themed so this bulletin board was the perfect addition to my floor.”
Bianca
University of Connecticut
“My submission for the bulletin board contest is my board for Hispanic Heritage Month. For the design of my board, I wanted to incorporate bright colors and traditional elements of Hispanic culture, such as the paper flowers found on the woman’s dress. To create the dress, I individually made each flower using tissue paper and glued them to the woman to create the dress. Around the board, I wanted to include more flowers, music notes, and slides with information about Hispanic culture.”
Ethan
Indiana State University
“My bulletin board is themed around How to Train Your Dragon and focuses on helping my residents develop their strengths. I asked each resident to share what they believe their strengths are, then I connected those strengths to campus organizations that can help them grow even further. I also included steps to guide them on their journey of improvement. The overall concept of the board is a map showing that we’re all navigating our own path toward self-improvement.”
Charley
University of Tennessee Martin
My bulletin board topic is succeed! I created a bulletin board that would pop out to residents that also has tips on how to succeed and keep pushing through until the end of the semester. The design is homemade paper flowers.
